The Hands Tell All!
The hands of Julian Black are mystical yet informative. One touch and Julian can capture memories hidden deep within or laying at surface area. Born with this unique gift, Julian has become a loner living at home with his mother. Until one day, news of a road rage murder makes him rethink his stance on his chosen solitary confinement. Having solved the murder, Julian is now on the local police’s radar. When an old acquaintance requests his presence, Julian becomes involved in international intrigue.
The author, J. B. Manas carefully weaves storylines growing unique characters with colorful and dangerous backgrounds as well as the mundane. Each storyline comes together naturally and gives the listener an entertaining, nail-biting time. He develops each character at different paces. The character of Julian is developed much slower than Sebastian or Lela. The only thing missing in this story is James Bond as we have the international intrigue and secret organizations as well as the criminal elements. The conclusion of the storyline is satisfying and unexpected. The plot twists are well-executed and unexpected.
The narrator, Colin Martin does an excellent job of voicing each character. The accents and cadence for each character are spot-on. Martin keeps each character's voice straight and consistent. His cadence is steady and keeps the story moving forward.
Overall, this is an exciting book that I feel has more adventure before it is done. I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy mystery and intrigue.
