The Midnight Man

Surreal Romance!

Stanley’s life has been extremely hard with an overbearing mother, haunting childhood, hating his job, and having a significant other who is definitely not his be all - end all. Then Stanely meets Asher, everything he is not and wants. Asher seduces and invites Stanely to join him in his world.

The author, Kevin Klehr, crafts a multi-layer tale filled with suspense, sex, plot twists, more sex, and internal struggles. Each character is intentionally developed allowing for the plot twists to accurately reflect the emotional depth and supernatural pieces. The romance is very detailed and graphic.

The narrator, Laurence Stirling Knott, gives a solid performance smoothly slipping into each character flawlessly and projecting an accurate emotional response. He provides a unique voice for each allowing the audience to follow a complex narrative easily.

While the book has a strong storyline, the graphic sexual content felt excessive and, for me, detracted from the plot.

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook.
