Richly Intense World!
Everly lost her mother to an overdose at an early age. All she has now is a deep dark secret and her best friend Mary Beth. Alone in the world, Everly struggles to keep herself safe and her best friend from overdosing. Along the way, Everly finds herself exposed – her long-deep secret of seeing Fae is now exposed and she is forced into the Fae world. Her adventures would have kept her there if not for Mary Beth and her commitment to keeping her safe. Grappling with a strong desire to return home, Everly must first overcome a major obstacle – an evil Queen of Fairy world.
Ceara Nobles, the author, weaves a fantastical world so intense and rich one cannot help but be drawn into it. Nobles carefully create relationships and situations that reflect loneliness, strength, courage, and a drive to be more than most girls Everly’s age feel and internalize. Subtle in her storytelling, Nobles weaves a deliberate story with rich characters and poignant moments.
The narrator, Michelle H. Lee delivers a strong performance with unique voices and a steady tempo. She speaks clearly and projects the personality of each character. Whether the character was meek, shy, or strong, the tonal inflections left little doubt. It is clear that Lee is gifted in narration.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy and adventure.
