In this audio-exclusive prequel - a must-hear for die-hard Zombie Fallout fans and newcomers alike - listeners are brought back to the days before outbreak; to the origins of a virus capable of raising the dead, its patient zero, and the events that set in motion the destruction of the human race.

Those who would seek a new world order have unleashed the most devastating virus onto mankind, and even they do not know the secrets hidden in their weapon. Follow along as Harry, a CDC scientist, races to figure out what exactly the virus is and how to stop it. It will be up to him and a group of marines led by Major Sanders to stop the zombie fallout before it ravages an unsuspecting world.

If you are a fan of zombie fall-out books by Mark Tufo, one must hear this one. It introduces a deeper darker reason for the spread of the zombie apocalypse plus we as listeners are given some an early introduction to one of Michael Talbot’s thorns in his side!

Zombie Fall-Out Zero shows the darker side of human nature and those who exploit. We learn who patient zero was, how he came into being and what happened. We are given a brief yet poignant look into the beginning of the end.

While there is no Michael Talbot to save the world, it is Major Sanders and his team of new recruits who must try. Will the Marines be enough?

As usual Mark Tufo does not disappoint. Although Michael Talbot does not have a role in the book, we are still highly entertained with the bucking of the establishment/authority figures. I enjoyed seeing how intertwined all the major characters are in this series from the beginning.

I enjoy Tufo’s writing style and his ability to create strong characters in a short time period. This story left off where Zombie Fall-Out 1 picks up. Everything flowed and set the stage but also gave his listeners valuable information.

Sean Runnette as usual did an excellent job of narrating and owning the book. I love his ability to assume the roles in the book and own them.

There were no audio issues with this publication, everything was clear and concise.
This is a must listen to all Tufo and Michael Talbot fans everywhere!

About Sean Runnette

ABR interviewed Sean here

Sean Runnette has earned two Audie nominations and five Earphones Awards for his narration. He has also directed and produced more than 200 audiobooks including several Audie Award winners. He has toured the US and internationally with The American Repertory Theater and Mabou Mines, as well as appearing in Two if by Sea, Copland, Sex and the City, Law and Order and 3rd Watch. He lives, unapologetically, in New Jersey.

The stuff that fits in between the lines:
I’ve been married for 13 years to the girl I first fell in love with when I was 19 years old. Which should make me 32, but somehow I’m closing in on 50. Go figure. We have a dog and a cat, live in a witness protection program style townhouse on the edge of farmland in NJ and don’t miss living in NYC.
I was raised mostly in California. Initially in Mill Valley and finally in LA. I went to Los Angeles Community College, realized I enjoyed acting, moved to SF (where I met my future wife) then moved again to Cambridge for more schoolin’. Then it was off to NY, where I did many, many plays in small rooms with and for swell folks. After a while the rooms got bigger and the people less fun. After a while hearing 100 no’s to every yes got to be too much, so I opted for sanity. Which is audiobooks. Still nutty, but much more civil.
I record in our basement, make holes in sheetrock and call it home repair, and train.

About Mark Tufo

Mark Tufo is the creator of the Zombie Fallout series, which feature everyman hero Mike Talbot.

Mark Tufo was born in Boston Massachusetts. He attended UMASS Amherst where he obtained a BA and later joined the US Marine Corp. He was stationed at Parris Island SC, Twenty Nine Palms CA, and Kaneohe Bay HI.

After his tour of duty, he went into the Human Resources field with a worldwide financial institution and has since gone back to college at CTU to complete his Masters.

He wrote the first installment of the Indian Hill Trilogy whilst in college. This manuscript was stored in his garage until July 2009, when he published it on Kindle at his wife’s insistence.

At the time of this writing, Mark has since written the extremely popular Zombie Fallout series comprised of six serial novels, one prequel novella (Dr. Hugh Mann), and a related side story following the plague from the point of view of a zombie retaining human sentience (Timothy); two additional installments of the popular Indian Hill series; a metaphysical horror novel (The Spirit Clearing); two books following the trials of domesticated pets in the time of a zombie plague (The Book of Riley 1 & 2); a young adult version of Indian Hill entitled The Ravin (with a YA version of Indian Hill 2 scheduled for release in 2013); and a contribution to a compilation of zombie short stories (Undead Tales).

Mark’s books are generally written in a first person narrative style and crossover into several genres including horror, science fiction, and comedy. All of his books make some reference to the recurring semi-autobiographical character Michael Talbot and usually include some interesting insights into the real history of this unique author.

Mark Tufo lives in Maine with his wife, three kids and two English bulldogs.

As of September 2012, Mark’s first film, Zombie Fallout is in pre-production with Illuminandi Media.
