Los Angeles - Jake London's ideal teen life is thrown into chaos when he discovers the ability to control a swarm of shape-shifting nanotechnology that has, until recently, lain dormant in his DNA.
Mechcraft is the skill of controlling the nanotech and summoning and creating tools, weapons, and even machines.
Being the first ever born with the nanotech, warring factions desire to use him for their own sinister ends. Now, with two Mechcraft agents at his side and a horde of enemies chasing them down, Jake finds himself in a desperate race to safety.
Will agents Bex and Trent be able to keep Jake safe against relentless Sasha? What unique powers will Jake be able to manifest?
He could put an end to the decades-old faction war or be the destroyer of all Mechcrafters.

Jake is special and not only do agents Bex and Trent know it but so do the bad guys! A young adult novel with nanotechs and special powers is intriguing and attention-grabbing! Jake has dominant nanotechnology in his DNA – well, until just recently. Now he finds himself having to contend with this new power, the bad guys and Bex and Trent!
Action packed, Brian Fitzpatrick weaves a complicated story with a twist on nanotechnology that will hold the listener’s attention. This is a well-woven story, with detailed and thorough character development. For a first book, Fitzpatrick has bypassed most first-time authors with his creativity, storytelling ability, engaging style and providing his listeners with a solidly entertaining book. I think he is an upcoming author who will entertain listeners with good solid stories.
Meghan Kelly performed the book professionally and well. I liked how she kept the story moving with just the right amount of inflection in her tone. Character voices were well done and recognizable.
Definitely and must listen if you enjoy sci-fi and action-packed adventure.
