One fateful decision - that is all it takes to either unravel all the Talbot clan has achieved or fulfill their desire for safety. Many are lost, though others return; this is the story of their struggle to survive and in remembrance of those left behind.

Zombie Fallout 10: Those Left Behind is as riveting as the others.  From day one, it has been clear that Mike Talbot is unique and is full of witty sarcasm.  He continues to hold the world and fate of his loved ones in his hands knowing that one mistake or judgment can bring it all crashing down around him.  We say goodbye to some longtime favorites and witness the return of some not so favorite people (will not spoil anything here).  BT proves himself more than capable of handling Knox in a hilarious yet unique manner then stepping aside so Mike and Knox can measure who has the biggest … and most believable lie in a standoff.

I have watched Mark Tufo grow as a writer working his audience without mercy subjecting them to moments of humor, darkness and sarcastic wit.  He weaves his stories well and connects them expertly.  Tufo grows suspense even when you know what’s going to happen next because he puts a slight spin on it eliciting a “I really didn’t see that one coming” response. His characters continue to grow and show more of their true colors and intestinal fortitude.  Tufo has created and grown Talbot, BT, and Trip in many ways making them seem more life-like.    I would not be surprised to see Talbot, BT and Trip being selected, hands down, as the best folks to be stranded with in an apocalypse.

Tufo, as usual, keeps his listeners off-balance but this time with an unlikely frenemy that has turned over a new leaf … Don’t miss this book, the darkness is beginning again but more intensely and with gripping action.  As a storyteller, Tufo is an artisan who hones his skills and books with precision – his internal dialogues are excellent and unfortunately for some of us – right on the money realism wise!

As usual the narrator, Sean Runnette takes the book and owns it Talbot style.  He draws the listeners in and holds them there with his talent and skill at projecting Mike, BT and the other characters to perfection.  His voice is clear and he drops Talbot witticisms skillfully, almost as if second nature.

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook.

This is a must listen!

About Sean Runnette

ABR interviewed Sean here

Sean Runnette has earned two Audie nominations and five Earphones Awards for his narration. He has also directed and produced more than 200 audiobooks including several Audie Award winners. He has toured the US and internationally with The American Repertory Theater and Mabou Mines, as well as appearing in Two if by Sea, Copland, Sex and the City, Law and Order and 3rd Watch. He lives, unapologetically, in New Jersey.

The stuff that fits in between the lines:
I’ve been married for 13 years to the girl I first fell in love with when I was 19 years old. Which should make me 32, but somehow I’m closing in on 50. Go figure. We have a dog and a cat, live in a witness protection program style townhouse on the edge of farmland in NJ and don’t miss living in NYC.
I was raised mostly in California. Initially in Mill Valley and finally in LA. I went to Los Angeles Community College, realized I enjoyed acting, moved to SF (where I met my future wife) then moved again to Cambridge for more schoolin’. Then it was off to NY, where I did many, many plays in small rooms with and for swell folks. After a while the rooms got bigger and the people less fun. After a while hearing 100 no’s to every yes got to be too much, so I opted for sanity. Which is audiobooks. Still nutty, but much more civil.
I record in our basement, make holes in sheetrock and call it home repair, and train.

About Mark Tufo

Mark Tufo is the creator of the Zombie Fallout series, which feature everyman hero Mike Talbot.

Mark Tufo was born in Boston Massachusetts. He attended UMASS Amherst where he obtained a BA and later joined the US Marine Corp. He was stationed at Parris Island SC, Twenty Nine Palms CA, and Kaneohe Bay HI.

After his tour of duty, he went into the Human Resources field with a worldwide financial institution and has since gone back to college at CTU to complete his Masters.

He wrote the first installment of the Indian Hill Trilogy whilst in college. This manuscript was stored in his garage until July 2009, when he published it on Kindle at his wife’s insistence.

At the time of this writing, Mark has since written the extremely popular Zombie Fallout series comprised of six serial novels, one prequel novella (Dr. Hugh Mann), and a related side story following the plague from the point of view of a zombie retaining human sentience (Timothy); two additional installments of the popular Indian Hill series; a metaphysical horror novel (The Spirit Clearing); two books following the trials of domesticated pets in the time of a zombie plague (The Book of Riley 1 & 2); a young adult version of Indian Hill entitled The Ravin (with a YA version of Indian Hill 2 scheduled for release in 2013); and a contribution to a compilation of zombie short stories (Undead Tales).
