PUCK AND MINNIE: ALL THAT IS
by Suzanne Warfield
Narrated by: Scott Ellis
Production by: Suzanne Warfield
Delightfully Rich Story!
This is one of those rare books that make the listener think deeply about his/her own faith concerning love and the “All That Is.” Since the beginning of time, Puck (a canine) has been charged with teaching humans about love; love in all things – decisions, interactions with others, and not letting fear or hatred seep into your heart. With each return, Puck learns new lessons and encounters new humans that he comes to love deeply. However, before Puck can move onward into the heavenly after, he must correct a past mistake that haunts him with each return. Even Puck learns he must forgive himself and others to right wrongs.
Suzanne Warfield, the author, has taken a beautiful story and woven it into an emotional tale of love, and forgiveness. Warfield carefully builds the story, sometimes going backward before she moves forward. This writing style adds to the poignancy of this story. It is clear that her message is powerful and impacts each person slightly differently in regard to how they connect with the characters or story. She is deliberate in character building while weaving her story.
The narrator, Scott Ellis gives a strong performance. Ellis moves the story at a steady pace offering up intense and emotional moments as reflected in the story. As the dog – Puck – he is able to sound innocent; as the others in the story, his voices reflect their personalities and the situations clearly.
I do not like to cry. I usually go out of my way to avoid those sappy movies or books that pull at the audience’s heartstrings making the tears flow freely. However, this book is well worth the tears and heartache as the story and its ending are perfect!
