Set in 1939, Ivy Virtue is learning how to become a private eye (hence the nickname); she plans to join the family business with her parents.  Ivy’s first case has thrown her into the limelight; everyone knows the girl named Private Ivy, the Private Eye.  She finds herself involved in a series of crimes, each one more bizarre than the other and even more deadly.     

Steven Cortinas, the author has captured the superhero genre with unique and rich characters. Cortinas weaves a vivid world and storyline that is both mesmerizing and intriguing.  The story flows smoothly and is detailed perfectly to keep the story moving forward.  His plot twists are not only unexpected but compelling.  Each character is well developed and has a depth to them that we are shown slowly. 

The narrator, Katie Fuleki gives an enthralling performance providing energy throughout the story that keeps it moving forward.  Although this is a theatrical performance with lots of voice actors, it is well done.  Fuleki keeps the tone and action consistent.

I loved this book!  It is well done!  Therefore, this book will receive the Audiobook Reviewer’s Choice Award.  A prestigious award for those books that rate a higher than the standard five-star review.   Congratulations go to Steven Cortinas and Katie Fuleki.

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook, it was well done.
