The author, Magnus Leijon weaves a tantalizing story around his true-life experiences. The heartbreaking story is full of twists that are poignant and terrifying. The story reinforces the need for the closeness of family. Terror and danger are sometimes just a tree or two away. The psychological torment that this family faced is detailed vividly.
This is a dramatic performance with each character being performed by members of the family. There were sound effects and dramatic music woven throughout. I am not a fan of theatrical performances within audiobooks as I feel it distracts me, however, I found it fascinating that the family performed the book.
Overall, this is an enticing book. I am not sure I would have survived all the family encountered. The book was engaging and informative, the richness of detail draws in the listener while the rest of the book keeps them there.
There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook. It was clear and crisp.
