Jason Markiewitz

A Colonel, A Creator, & an Audiobook Narrator

Jason Markiewitz is a non-union, award-winning audiobook narrator who brings his listeners on a journey inside the page with a voice perfect for telling stories around a campfire.  He has narrated over 40 books for independent presses like AEJ Creative Works & Focsle Publishing, indie authors like Jeter Isely and Holly Knightley, and high-profile authors like USA Today Bestselling author Liz Isaacson, and NYT Bestselling author Lorhainne Eckhart.

Having trained on audiobook narration and voice acting techniques with Nakamoto Productions in Sacramento, CA, and after years of work in film and theatre, Jason has brought his own style to his narration that listeners really enjoy.  He has read in accents from Russian to Italian to Scottish to British and performed characters from Demons to Detectives, Cowboys to Clowns, Demigods to Damsels, male and female, young and old.  He works out of his professional home studios in Georgia and California.

Jason began narrating audiobooks in December 2020 and has found a great deal of success in this business.  He is an ACX Approved Producer, a member of the Professional Audiobook Narrators Association, and has earned two ABR Choice awards, two ABR Narrators of the Year award, three Seneca award nominations, a Voice Arts Award Nomination, and two Saturday Visiter Award Nominations (given by the International Edgar Allan Poe Festival and Awards) for his work in audiobooks and audio dramas over the past 5 years.  He has narrated romance, horror, mystery, young adult, military, modern fiction, and his favorite category: Westerns!  When not narrating, he is a Colonel in the United States Air Force, is a voice actor and owner of Markiewitz Audioworks (an audio theatre company), and is married to his high school sweetheart with whom he has three wonderful children, a temperamental Russian tortoise, and a spring-loaded labradoodle.

Reviews:

"The narrator, Jason Markiewitz, infuses the dialogue and situations with emotion and suspense to fully immerse the listener. His skillful use of inflection and intonation enhances the tension, drawing the audience deeper into the story. He speaks clearly, with a cadence that intensifies the growing horror, recognition, and, ultimately, Lansbury's acceptance. This was a fascinating listen that remained well after the last words were spoken. Both Knightley and Markiewitz delivered a fascinating and immersive book!" AudiobookReviewer.com review of The Killing Tree

"The Legal Lackey by Jeter Isley is an excellent western. Jason Markiewitz did an amazing job with the narration and bringing the story to life." Audible Reviewer of The Legal Lackey

"The narrator captures the essence of the intricacies and nuances of the Russian language--its inflections and tonalities--that gives "The Russian Who Saved The World" an authentic "you-are-there" presence and depth to that turbulent and tense period in US-USSR relations." Audible Reviewer of The Russian Who Saved the World

"This was a wild listen. I really enjoyed it. The voice the narrator used for Giggles was immensely creepy. I didn’t see the end coming at all!" Audible Reviewer of Giggles
