There is a Mystery a Foot!
John Pickett is a young man in the employ of the Bow Street force. Due to his youth and inexperience, his focus has mainly been on the less sensational crimes such as pickpockets, petty thieves, and so forth. That is until now when he finds himself thrust into catching a murderer and finds himself getting caught up in the wiles of the beautiful young widow. His eyes are opened when he discovers that no matter highly regarded you are in society or what one’s station is, murder is still frowned upon.
The author, Sheri Cobb South weaves a mystery that is suspenseful, light, and with good humor. Each character is deftly developed and fits within the story perfectly. She is vivid in her descriptions and details. Her plot flows smoothly leaving no plot holes. The plot twists are even and well-done.
The narrator, Joel Froomkin gives an excellent performance. His range of voices is well done, they flow smoothly, and they are unique for each character. He spoke clearly and with the proper amount of intonation.
This is a light mystery that is both entertaining and is an easy listen.
There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook. The sound was clear and well done.
