Epically Gucci!
The Grand Marshal of the Imperium is searching for a woman with powerful magic that he intends to possess by any means. Kaimo is a miner and struggling to be an ophthalmologist but is content to be an optometrist for now. Their world is faced with survival or ending. It all depends on Kaimo’s actions.
Paul Centeno created a world and storyline that is tightly crafted painting vivid images with words. I enjoyed his plot of a world surviving or simply ending and the choices we make. The steampunk piece adds to the adventure of the story and makes the world even more vivid. I followed the story easily and enjoyed the plot line of nature decaying.
Rob Jones UK did a great job of performing the book. I enjoyed his voices and found them to be intriguing; his delivery was smooth, yet emotion filled at times. He seemed to capture the essence of each character very well.
Unlike other reviewers, I found the music to be fascinating. It fit the story perfectly! It was almost like the two were blended naturally into one another to reflect the story and emotion of the characters. It was well done – not too loud, not too soft. I’m not sure the book would be as good without the music!
I highly recommend this book – can’t go wrong! There were no issues with the sound, quality, or production of this audiobook.

Fascinating Steampunk!
Kaimo de Morté is a miner with dreams of becoming an ophthalmologist. Being poor, his choice of a career is going to be a long hard journey but one he is determined to finish. Then comes a tragic explosion that kills some of the miners and his life takes a drastic turn. Add in a woman who is believed to hold the key to a mythical power and the Grand Marshal of the Imperium is determined to have her at any cost. Together they must defeat the Grand Marshal for good or their world will end.
Paul Centeno, the author, crafts an interesting novel with lots of action, passion, and worldbuilding. A definite steampunk-styled novel with steamships and such as well as tons of action. Vivid and rich in details, Centeno captures the imagination of his audience with his world and character-building. The storyline flows smoothly. His characters had depth and a presence that encouraged people to connect with them. This book is filled with suspense, intrigue, rich characters, and zero room for plot holes.
The narrator, Rob Jones UK slips on each character and portrays them entertainingly and with passion and charisma. I enjoyed his unique voice which enabled me to follow the story smoothly with each character. His cadence was solid and enriched the storyline.
Overall, this is an engrossing story with strong characters and a plot. The only thing I did not enjoy was the music but I am not a fan of music or sound effects in audiobooks. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys steampunk, sci-fi, and action.
