Surrealistic Experience!

Using poetic prose, one experiences the anguish, pain, doubt, and mental struggles one experiences throughout life, yet some levels are extreme –most of this is the stuff nightmares are made of.

The author, Dominic Francisco utilizes poetry and prose, carefully blended, to tell the story of pain, experiences of isolation, mental struggles, loss, self-doubt, and emotional turmoil. His imagery is vivid and detailed, placing the listener in a surrealistic setting that at times is relatable and other times overwhelming.

As the narrator, Dominic Franciso set a steady pace and passionately delivered the story. However, the background music made it difficult to hear his words and to comfortably follow along. Although music can enhance one’s experience with an audiobook this was not the case, it was more of a hindrance. I feel it took away from his powerful message and was a distraction.

The book is a very short listen. To truly grasp the storyline and appreciate it, one needs a deep appreciation for poetic prose and the capacity to disregard overwhelming musical distractions.
