Allison Church, the author, is the queen of horror! Her imagination, versatile writing skills, and ability to draw the audience in and trap them for hours on end with one thrilling moment after another is an amazing experience! Each character, both living and non-living, was well developed at the needed pace to keep the story moving forward and riveting. The plot twists were not overly complex but still shattering and terrifying! The depth of each character, twist, and storyline is rich with details and imagery. One cannot listen to this book without vividly seeing what is happening!
The narrator, Jeffrey S Fellin delivers a magnificent performance, further enhancing the terror-inducing storyline! He not only captures and projects the terror but also the humanity of each character with subtle tonal changes. His delivery is solid and smooth, and he speaks with clarity. Fellin performs the story as if he himself is experiencing the horrors and evils firsthand!
Overall, it is clear to me that Allison Church is the queen of horror writing and Jeffrey Fellin is the voice! Together they are an amazing pair! By the end of the book, I can guarantee you will be filled with terror, you will not sleep, and you will see all houses differently! I love horror and Church is by far the best horror writer I have listened to in years!
