The Resurrectionist

by A.R. Meyering

Narrated by: Alan R. Gron

Goddess, Demons, and Corpse Selling!

Edgar Price is more than a dying man with plans to leave this world quietly, he has become the host for a revenant and encounters at least 6 demons, a goddess, and the notorious Burke and Hare fiends that created opportunities to make money selling corpses in 19th century Scotland.  Along with the guardian goddess of the Wood, Edgar sets out to rid the world of the demons and this is when the fun and horror begins.

Epic in length, The Resurrectionist by A.R. Meyering is an exceptional book.  Meyering takes several different genres and blends them together – gothic horror, mystery, and Fantasy with a touch of real crime – creating an engaging and intriguing story like Alice in Wonderland.  From the dialog to character development to world-building, Meyering is methodical and deliberate.  The story itself provokes thoughts of consequences, humanity, love, and life.

The story is poignantly peppered with characters and situations that the listener can watch evolve.  Meyering is a masterful wordsmith adept at weaving a story fully.

Alan R. Gron, the narrator, provides an excellent performance as he smoothly delivers the words that captivate the listener.  He slips between characters fluidly and without effort.  His voices are unique to the characters and represent each character appropriately.  His deliverance of the words was smooth and clear.

A very well-done book, Meyering delivers a magnificent story of chaos and intrigue combining them into a tale that will keep each listener enthralled to the end.

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook.  It was well done and clear.
