Engaging, Thought-Provoking Fantasy!

Alecia takes a trip down the proverbial rabbit hole when she awakes and finds herself alone in the world of Gia. Along with her guardian angel and guide, Alecia has a decision to make – to see her life and decide whether to live it or not. Will she make the correct decision? Will she choose the trials and tribulations she is shown as well as those precious and loving times? When the world of Gia begins to disintegrate, the decision is more vital.

Mystical, supernatural, and religious moments are peppered throughout the story. The story is engaging and written in an easy-flowing style. Each character and situation Alecia experiences through the supernatural or mystical method is thought-provoking. If you knew your life outcomes – what would you do? The author, Jean Pascal, places the listener into the story through her masterful storytelling. The listener cannot help but wonder, “what would I do?” This is important to the story as it keeps the listener hooked – Pascal’s writing style manipulates the listener into considering their reaction and possible answer.

The narrator, Kate Rudd, gives an engaging performance. Her words flow smoothly and clearly. Each situation is appropriately charged with the correct emotion as well as prompting the listener to experience the same feelings – helplessness, faith, love, fear, anger, etc. Each character is richly delivered in a solid performance.

This is one of those rare books that has the listener pondering well after the story ends. Although faith and belief play a large part in this book, it is well-done and not a preachy type book but rather a book that elicits a genuine and strong feeling of warmth.

This is an interesting listen, and if you enjoy books that will make you ponder long afterward and an action-packed journey of life, then don’t hesitate to give this book a listen.
