MR. DALTON’S CHRISTMAS

Christmas Magic!

A night of disaster changes Edward Dalton’s life forever. Dalton chooses to live in near isolation except to drag himself to work at Macy’s every day to pay the bills. Deciding to step out for a change, a tremendous snowstorm with freezing temperatures arrives. Then Christmas magic steps in and his life once again changes forever.

Robert A. Valle, the author, gives a fresh look at Christmas magic. This is a well-written short story that leaves behind a warm fuzzy feeling and an appreciation for hope, love, and faith. Each character is developed as needed, allowing for the listener to connect even briefly with each one. Although the manager of the ski lodge is not fully developed, one can appreciate and understand his feeling of being overwhelmed with helping with the search and fulfilling expectations of the guests that are safe. The story flows smoothly and with one or two twists that leave the listener smiling.

The narrator, Luke de Maine gives an excellent performance. He uses unique voices for each character, and they remain consistent throughout. He projects the emotions and keeps the story flowing through his vocal intonations. I enjoyed his performance.

This is a fun yet poignant Christmas story that everyone should hear regardless of the time of year.

The production and quality of this audiobook were perfect. I encountered no issues.
