Amulet’s Rapture
Curse of Clansmen and Kings, Book 3

by Linnea Tanner

A Powerful Story of Love, Survival and Struggles

The Amulet’s Rapture by Linnea Tanner continues the tale of the forbidden love and relationship between Catrin, the warrior Druid princess, and Marcellus, a Roman Tribune.   Catrin’s family is killed and her homeland ransacked by her half-brother Merrick who is conspiring with Roman Legionnaires. Captured by a Roman commander, Catrin is forced to live life as a boy and serve as the oracle of Apollo.

Marcellus, with his mind, wiped clean of Catrin and his life in Britannia reconnects with Catrin.  Their love and forbidden relationship force the Roman Commander to sell Catrin into the Gladiator arena.  Separated by the fates, the selfishness, and lies of the Roman Commander, both must find their way back together.  The journey is long with deadly pitfalls at each step.   Longing to return home, Catrin fights what the fates have thrown in her way.  Time will tell whether Catrin can return home and what if anything is left to return to and whether she will be reunited with Marcellus.

Linnea Tanner once again captures the attention of her audience and weaves a magical story of love, survival and morality.  Tanner is skilled at storytelling and weaving a supernatural based story using myth and legend as well as being historically accurate.  Tanner is vivid in her descriptions and dialog taking her audience along on an intense journey of transformation and survival.

Tanner gives her audience excitement, passion, and profound experiences that resonate on several levels.  Tanner has developed a strong storyline with character development that ensures the characters to be realistic and believable.

Kristen James delivers a performance that is not only memorable but draws the listener into the book more deeply as the story builds.  Her change in tones and rhythm keep the story moving at a steady pace.  Her performance adds to an already riveting book making it richer and more captivating.

There were no issues with the production or quality of this book.

While it is the third book in the series, it can still be read without having read the others.  I would recommend that you read the entire series because this is a top-notch series that is well done.  Tanner is a masterful word crafter.  I look forward to hearing book 4!
